Understanding VPS Bandwidth

Each VPS plan includes a monthly bandwidth allowance. Here is what you need to know.

What Counts as Bandwidth?

Bandwidth refers to the total data transferred in and out of your server each month — web traffic, file transfers, SSH sessions, and any other network activity.

Checking Your Usage

You can monitor your bandwidth usage from the My Servers page in your dashboard. A progress bar shows how much of your monthly allowance has been used.

For more detailed real-time monitoring, install vnstat on your server:

apt install vnstat
vnstat -l # live monitor
vnstat -m # monthly summary

What Happens at the Limit?

If you approach or reach your bandwidth limit, our team will contact you. We do not automatically throttle or suspend servers — we will work with you to upgrade your plan or purchase additional bandwidth.

Plans with Unlimited Bandwidth

The Enterprise VPS plan includes unlimited bandwidth at 10 Gbps. For high-traffic applications, this plan is recommended.

Reducing Bandwidth Usage

  • Enable GZIP compression on your web server
  • Use a CDN (Cloudflare free tier) to offload static assets
  • Optimise image sizes before serving them
  • Enable HTTP/2 to reduce request overhead
