Software License Renewal — How It Works

Renewing Your Software License

Software licenses on Aserver come in two types: monthly/yearly subscriptions and one-time perpetual licenses. Here is how renewal works for each.

Subscription Licenses (e.g. cPanel, CloudLinux)

These licenses are billed monthly or yearly. To renew:

  1. Go to My Servers in your dashboard
  2. Find the expiring server/license and click Renew Now
  3. Complete checkout — your expiry date is extended immediately

Your IP address and license key remain unchanged.

One-Time / Perpetual Licenses (e.g. Windows Server, Plesk)

These do not expire and do not need renewal. You own the license permanently from the date of purchase. Updates may require a new purchase (e.g. upgrading from Windows Server 2019 to 2022).

What Happens When a Subscription Lapses?

If a subscription license is not renewed, it enters a grace period of 5–7 days depending on the vendor, after which the software may disable itself or show license warnings. Renew before the expiry date to avoid disruption.

Auto-Renewal

Currently, renewals are manual. We recommend setting a calendar reminder 7 days before your expiry date, or watching for the "Renew Soon" warning in your servers dashboard.
