Installing and Activating cPanel

Installing cPanel on Your Server

cPanel is a web-based hosting control panel. After purchasing a cPanel license from Aserver, follow these steps to install and activate it.

System Requirements

  • CentOS 7, CentOS 8 Stream, AlmaLinux 8, or Rocky Linux 8
  • Minimum 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
  • Minimum 20 GB disk space
  • A clean server with no other control panels installed

Installation

# Run as root — this takes 15–45 minutes
cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest && sh latest

Applying Your License Key

cPanel licenses are tied to your server IP address, not a key string. Once you purchase a license from Aserver:

  1. Our team registers the license against your server IP in the cPanel license database
  2. cPanel automatically detects and applies the license within 24 hours
  3. To force an immediate check: /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

Accessing WHM

After installation, access the Web Host Manager at:

https://YOUR_IP:2087

Log in with your root username and password. Complete the initial setup wizard before creating any accounts.

License Not Showing?

If cPanel shows a license error 24 hours after purchase, open a support ticket with your server IP and we will investigate immediately.
